Senior Python Engineer (Fraud Engineering)

At Veriff, our mission is to protect honest people online, and the Fraud Engineering team is central to achieving this goal. We are looking for a skilled Senior Python Engineer to join this team, which focuses on detecting repeat fraud using machine learning models and delivering global risk assessments for fraudulent activities. As part of this team, you will maintain and enhance our real-time Fraud Platform, focusing on security, scalability, and maintainability. Your role will be key in designing and developing systems that support Veriff's vision to build trust online with a reliable and secure platform.

 

You’ll help us protect honest people online by:

• Taking charge of the design, documentation, and validation processes for product and system development, ensuring top-notch quality and innovation
• Building, testing, and maintaining our automation services using Python, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our platform
• Collaborating closely with a diverse team of engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts, both within and outside the team, to tackle complex challenges and drive forward our vision for fraud prevention.
• Owning and nurturing cross-functional partnerships, including working with engineering teams and product stakeholders, to align goals and strategies
• Mentoring and guiding the team, ensuring they are well-equipped with the necessary skills and aligned with our mission

You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have

• Over 5 years of experience building large-scale applications with Python
• A strong understanding of modular design approaches and SOLID principles, particularly in distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with building scalable and maintainable APIs and message-queuing concepts
• Proficiency in various test strategies, ensuring robust and reliable software solutions
• Solid understanding of fundamental relational database concepts
• Familiarity with structured logging systems
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and motivate technical ideas to both engineers and non-engineers
