Accountant

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions and supporting the month-end close process. Your role will mainly involve payroll calculations and supporting with payment processing and expense reimbursements. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and assist in maintaining accurate financial records across various entities. Your positivity, knowledge in accounting, and fast “can do” attitude will help to find quick solutions to even the most unusual problems that arise in a high growth start-up life environment

You’ll help us protect honest people online by:

• Responsible for Estonian payroll calculations and related tax calculations, working closely with People Operations. (Merit Experience Preferred)
• Submitting local statutory reports relevant to its specific area (e.g., in Estonia TSD, KMD, Statistics)
• Support with payroll journals in other countries
• Support month-end closing
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and accruals in a timely and accurate manner
• Review and process employee expense reimbursements and company credit card transactions
• Assist in performing monthly bank reconciliations for various entities, ensuring accurate cash balances
• Prepare routine journal entries related to expenses, payroll, and bank transactions
• Assist in managing fixed assets, including recording acquisitions and depreciation
• Assist in gathering data for VAT filings and other regulatory requirements
• Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and assist in audits
• Work with the Senior Accountant to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies

You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:

• 2-3 years of work experience in Estonian payroll, including exposure to variable payroll calculations
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• Excellent communication skills in Estonian and English
• Understanding different aspects of accounting rules and regulations
• A detail-oriented mindset while also having generalization skills
• A “can-do” attitude, with the ability to prioritize and deliver
• Problem-solving and solution orientation
• A team player ethic, while being comfortable working independently
