Get to know Gabriel Barbabela, Lead Growth Product Manager, who's building trust online with us. With a background in technology, product strategy, and entrepreneurship, Gabriel shares some highlights of his career, what drew him to Veriff, and what he's up to besides work.

Gabriel Barbabela serves in the expansion team as the Lead Growth Product Manager at Veriff, building new ways for companies to fight fraud globally. His current focus is on building a trust network that companies can rely on to verify their users quickly and accurately. Specialized in product strategy, he is a former tech entrepreneur, consultant, and Latitud Fellow who has helped high-growth companies in the iGaming, SaaS, consumer apps, and commerce spaces.
We had a chat with Gabriel, who's based in Brazil, to find out more about what drew him to Veriff.
Welcome to the team, Gabriel! Could you please share what drew you to Veriff and its mission?
Trust is at the core of human experience. I am deeply inspired to collaborate on improving such a fundamental part of society. The mission is not only an opportunity to scale trust but also to have an incredible group of people driving it forward. Having the right team, disciplined thinking, and bias towards execution are the key ingredients of excellence and it is what drew me to Veriff.

You have about 10 years experience of in building products, what are you most proud of in your career so far?
Having launched multiple products in different industries, such as SaaS, consumer apps, and e-commerce to over 30 countries, I experienced all sorts of results, challenges, and efforts across departments.
What I’m most proud of is creating an environment that empowers people to use their skills to the fullest, consistently raising the bar, and building on high-leverage opportunities that drive disproportionate impact.
What are some of the takeaways from previous roles that contribute to your work at Veriff?
From my early days in tech to leading product teams and launching startups, I can think of a few. Something I have realized is that it is all about the people and balancing their needs. Another crucial insight is the importance of focus, supported by an understanding of the power laws at play. Finally, I’ve learned that speed is a habit, and can be a true competitive advantage.
What excites you most about your role at Veriff?
The opportunity to shape the future of trust. As I mentioned earlier, I see the mission as the core of human relations. Veriff's solution is a major enabler for all sorts of companies to accelerate technology adoption, improving their services all across the globe.
Aside from your work at Veriff, what are some of your other commitments and passion projects you are currently working on? Any hobbies?
I've always engaged in many different activities, and I love to learn new things. The most recent ones I picked up are getting my motorcycle license and wake boarding.
But I have tried my hand in capoeira (Brazilian martial art), crossfit, Ashtanga yoga, wrestling, playing the guitar, go karting, and a few others.
